Ava's gas was 92 today and then they changed her to a cuffed trach and got a gas of 82. They decided to put a cuffed trach in her today and I was a bit hesitant on them doing this. They said she could come home on it, but it's something that is inside her trachea and I'm not so sure about it. Tonight her heart rate dropped to 60 and her O2 saturation dropped to 20 and so they bagged her and it went up again. They deflated the cuffed trach and maybe that's what's causing it. Not sure yet. She was asleep when this happened. They also put in a pediatric cuffed trach and not a neonatal trach and it was making her gag. She was cranky most of the day and she looks pale as well.
We are less than a week from her going on the home vent and the situation is going crazy again. I would love to get her home for Thanksgiving. Please pray...
Ava did gain more weight though. Yeah! She now weighs 6 kg = 13.23 pounds.
Praying for Ava to get on the home vent and come home to us...
